CALGARY MILENIUM PARK-
Calgary |
|
|
| |
| |
| "...blessed the skateboarding world by building North America's largest skatepark....The first time I walked through the park I couldn't believe it, if felt so unreal, almost like a dream....This monster of a park is more than a football field in size....This park has something for everyone: banks, ledges of all sizes, rails, bowls & of course the 13' deep concrete vert ramp that connects to a 30' diameter full pipe....so many kids there....so many lines in so many directions....hundreds of lines to explore. The park was laid out so that you can pretty much pump around endlessly." |

"Jim has provided cost effective and professional services for skatepark conceptual design, youth liaison, detail design and construction management. Our experiences prove a successful skatepark must be designed and developed by a Skateboarder who ensures the local skate
community is involved.” |

| "5,000 people came to see...over 3 days of non-stop skating....Alex Chalmers, Salba, Lance Mountain, Jim Gagne, Moses Itkonen, Paul Machnau, Dan Drehobl, Pat Duffy, Rich Weins, Jim Barnum [Spectrum’s President], Roger Bruinsma & others tear into the concrete....In the first month there were over 30,000 visits...cities across Canada watched in jealousy & dreamed of their own super parks....Finally Calgary has a skatepark & one to be proud of....Now I see thousands of people, young & "old" getting together, having fun & feeling good about what they do." |
