| "The bank ledge is so fun! So far it's the highlight of the park; it can be skated in so many different ways. Every time I look at it I see a new approach; the last time I was there I skated it for almost 3 hours hitting it everyway possible (and there is probably still more!). It’s all nice and smooth. Also all the kids I see riding there every time I go are loving the park and have nothing but praise." |

"The heavy street influence in the design of the skatepark has really been a success. Over the past 6 months, I have been constantly bombarded with overwhelmingly positive comments like:
- “It’s just like street-skateboarding – but without getting kicked out!”
- “Why hasn’t there been a skatepark like this around here before?”
- “I’ll be here everyday until it snows, then back in the spring!”
- “All the sets and ledges remind me of skating downtown”
- “I’ve been waiting for a place like this my whole life!”
- “This is my new home.”
…and many more about how great and fun the skatepark is.
It is really great to see that all these little kids have a safe and encouraging environment to skate in – I’m envious that I didn’t have the same thing when I was their age.
The skatepark has also provided a new beginning to many ex-skateboarders who wish to start skateboarding again. The skatepark for them is a place to go where they won’t be harassed for skating in the street. It’s a place where they can regain their confidence on their skateboards, have fun and meet up with old skateboarding friends. |
